A Successful Hunt!  

But that's not unusual at Shamrock Safaris!  Over 90% of our hunts are successful.  We have a unique arrangement where our hunts are conducted over 9 separate tracts,  so the best areas don't get hunted out.  Also, the large surrounding area keeps the shooting areas well stocked at all times.
Looks like hard work!  

It should!  Our average, undressed, weight at harvest is in the  area of 190 pounds!  Our shooting areas, and the surrounding areas offer ideal feeding and cover for all of our game, and the constant harvest sees to it that none of the feeding areas is overgrazed.

Our Shooting Stands...

Are situated over fertilized wheat fields planted specifically for feed purposes.  No picking over fields that have already been harvested for your Shamrock Safaris deer.   Additionally, our deer are fed pellets year round, and corn from timed feeders during the season.  Our stands are carpeted, fully enclosed and, in the event of cold weather, thermostatically heated.  Stairway access (to the right of the picture) makes for easy access.
The Details:  
  • Licensing...  All hunters must be licensed  through the Texas Dept. of Parks and Wildlife.  Your  application for a hunt at Shamrock Safaris contains all information needed for us to get your license for you.  Just let us know, or you can arrange it yourself from the number above.  (Non-residents under 17 years of age are designated as residents for hunting license purposes.)  All hunters born after 1-1-71 MUST have a valid hunter safety certificate.
  • Bag limit...  1 buck per season.  Prior to December first, you may add up to 2 does, as well.  Shamrock Safaris encourages this doe harvest.

What you Get...Your Hunt:
  • Friday:  Arrival.  You may either drive in or Shamrock Safaris is an easy drive from Amarillo International Airport.  If you choose to fly in, rental cars are available at the airport or we offer limousine pickups.  (Call for details).  That evening, enjoy a hearty, home cooked dinner, as part of your package.
  • Saturday-Tuesday:  Wake before daybreak to a light continental-style breakfast, then free transportation to the shooting stands.  Hunt until approximately 10:30 when the game activity lessens, then back to the lodge for a hearty breakfast buffet (Or, if you wish, pack a box lunch and hunt all day.)   Around 3:00 it's back to your shooting stand for more hunting.  At sundown, we bring you back to the lodge for a home cooked dinner.  After that, you can enjoy satellite TV in our common area and share the day's stories with your friends, old and new.
  • Tuesday Evening, Wednesday morning:  All good things must come to an end, and so does a Shamrock Safaris Hunt.  You may either leave after hunting on Tuesday, or you may stay over and leave Wednesday morning.  Again, limo service is available to Amarillo International Airport.
